What are the different types of diapers? TOP One Size Fits All (or most) Cloth Diaper: It's a cloth diaper that fits children from birth to potty training. The benefits are obvious-it will last through the whole diapering experience, and you will be able to use it on multiple children of different ages at the same time!
All In One Cloth Diaper: It's a cloth diaper that uses a waterproof outer fabric (usually PUL-polyurethane laminated fabric) so that it doesn't require a cover. Also, the soaker fabric is sewn into the diaper and is not removable. This makes the diaper very easy to use and clean. Many people like this style of diaper because it is easiest for dads and day care workers to use (it works just like a disposable diaper except you wash it). Pocket-Style Cloth Diaper: It's a diaper with an inner layer, a layer of waterproof fabric for the outer layer, and an opening in between where an absorbent material can be added and removed as necessary. You can adjust the soaker fabric for day and nighttime use and remove it for more thorough cleaning. Fitted Cloth Diaper: It's a cloth diaper that usually has cute print fabrics like flannels and organics so that it is soft and adorable, but it does require a cover. The soaker fabric is usually sewn into the diaper and is not removable. There are variations called "pocket fitteds" which have stuffable, removable soakers. Basically, a fitted diaper is anything made with non-waterproof fabrics and it will require a waterproof cover over the top of it. Cloth Diaper Cover: This is usually a single waterproof layer of material with elastisized legs back regions that goes over prefold (traditional pinned cloth diapers) or fitted style cloth diapers. Typical materials for diaper covers include PUL (polyurethane laminated fabric), heavy weight fleece, and wool. How do I launder cloth diapers?
